Connecting Communities

At our church, we recognize the importance of building and sustaining community. Over the years we’ve had ties to many local groups, some for long periods and some for short. Here are the groups and organizations that, in one way or another, currently call the church home:

e.p.i.c. School

A school for pre-kindergarten, JK, and SK that specializes in early education, e.p.i.c. School has been at the church for over ten years.

Manor Road Co-Operative Nursery School

Founded in 1937 by Mrs. Wasson, wife of Rector Everett Wasson, Manor Road Co-Operative Nursery School was the first of its kind in Canada. It has been independent for many years and offers a half-day morning program.

58th Scouts Canada

Another group with an historical connection to Transfiguration, the 58th Scouts Group has been located at the church since our founding in the 1920s. Currently they have Beaver, Cub, and Scouts sections which meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the gym; they are well known for their successful Christmas Tree sales every December, which happen right on top of the hill.

Rooks to Cooks

Returning for another summer after their successful start in 2017, Rooks to Cooks holds ten weeks of cooking camps at the church from late June through August. (Sometimes they bring a homemade smoked salmon bagel – or a bowl of fresh ragu – up to the church office, which is never turned down.)

Royal Conservatory of Music

A new partnership for the church: the Royal Conservatory of Music will be using our children’s room for their Saturday morning early childhood music education classes beginning September 2018.

Little Kickers

On Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, you may hear the pitter patter of little feet in our gym! Not to worry, it’s just Little Kickers holding their soccer classes for tots.

Alcoholics Anonymous

This group has been meeting at the church every week for nearly ten years. Please note this is a closed meeting limited in attendance to those who have a desire to stop drinking.
