At our church, we recognize the importance of building and sustaining community. Over the years we’ve had ties to many local groups, some for long periods and some for short. Here are the groups and organizations that, in one way or another, currently call the church home:
Toronto Chamber Choir
Known for their creative programs of Renaissance and Baroque music, Toronto Chamber Choir is new to Transfiguration but has been performing for five decades.
Alphabet Academy Childcare
Alphabet Academy opened in 2021 and offers full-day childcare for toddlers and preschoolers five days a week.
Manor Road Co-Operative Nursery School
Founded in 1937 by Mrs. Wasson, wife of Rector Everett Wasson, Manor Road Co-Operative Nursery School was the first of its kind in Canada. It has been independent for many years and offers a half-day morning program.
58th Scouts Canada
Another group with an historical connection to Transfiguration, the 58th Scouts Group has been located at the church since our founding in the 1920s. Currently they have Beaver, Cub, and Scouts sections which meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the gym; they are well known for their successful Christmas Tree sales every December, which happen right on top of the hill.
Little Kickers
On Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings, you may hear the pitter patter of little feet in our gym! Not to worry, it's just Little Kickers holding their soccer classes for tots.
Alcoholics Anonymous
This group has been meeting at the church every week for nearly ten years. Please note this is a closed meeting limited in attendance to those who have a desire to stop drinking.
